In this 3-hour workshop you will build your own functional teapot from parts thrown by our resident potter, Logan. You will learn fundamental pottery skills to assemble the pieces, pierce holes in the spouts, pull/attach handles and build knobs for the lids. You will be able to add to and adapt the shape of your teapot too, adding features and carving designs so that you come away with something truly unique, as well as functional.

You will discuss glazing options also and decide how you want them finished. Pieces will be fired and glazed by the studio technician for collection 4-6 weeks after the session – in line with the colour finishes you decide. (This time is to accommodate drying times, kiln firings [several days each] glazing and fitting into normal studio wares firing rotations).

If instead, you would like to glaze the teapot yourself, you will also need to book onto a ‘Glazing sessions (follow up)’ class at least 4 weeks after your initial workshop.

This session is suitable for beginners.
